Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about airport transfers in Singapore, along with insights to help you choose the right service for your trip.

1. What exactly is an airport transfer service?

airport transfers in Singapore

An airport transfer is a pre-booked transport service that gets you to or from Changi Airport and your destination — whether that’s a hotel, home, or office. It offers a door-to-door experience, often with higher comfort and reliability than taxis or rideshares.

Here’s what you can typically expect:

  • Meet-and-greet service with a personalised name sign
  • Professional chauffeurs (no surprise cancellations or surges)
  • Comfortable, executive-class vehicles
  • Transparent, flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees

Opting for a trusted service can make the whole process more seamless.

2. How early should I book an airport transfer in Singapore?

To secure your preferred time and vehicle, it’s wise to book at least 24 hours in advance, especially during busy travel seasons. Many services offer online reservations with instant confirmation, making planning even more convenient. For instance, Hesed Limousine’s booking platform lets you lock in your ride in just a few clicks.

3. What happens if my flight is delayed or arrives early?

airport transfers in Singapore delays arrivals departures early

Good transfer services track your flight in real-time, adjusting pickup schedules to match any changes. You won’t need to worry about being stranded or rushing through customs – drivers will time their arrival around yours. Providers like Hesed Limousine include this as part of the standard service.

4. Are airport transfers in Singapore available at all hours?

airport transfers in Singapore night day 24/7

Yes! Many airport transfer services operate 24/7 to accommodate travelers during off-peak hours, especially those red-eye flights or early morning check-ins. This flexibility can be a lifesaver when public transport is limited or unavailable. Hesed Limousine and many other providers in Singapore offer this round-the-clock service, so no matter when your flight lands or takes off, a ride will be ready and waiting to get you where you need to be.

5. Do I need to tip the chauffeur?

airport transfers in Singapore chauffeur

Tipping isn’t customary in Singapore, and most services include all fees upfront. Of course, if your chauffeur goes above and beyond, a tip is always appreciated, but there’s no pressure! All-inclusive pricing keeps things simple and stress-free.

6. I’m traveling with a large group. Can I still book an airport transfer?

airport transfers in Singapore large group

Absolutely. Many providers offer roomy MPVs, minibuses, and maxi cabs for larger groups or travelers with bulky luggage. Just share your group size when booking, and you’ll be matched with the right vehicle for your needs.

5 Best Transportation Options Available At Singapore’s Changi Airport

Posted on: April 3rd, 2025 by ayeeshah

Just arrived in Singapore and need a ride to your hotel or the city? We’ve got you – here’s your guide to all the transportation options available at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

1. Airport Transfer

Singapore changi airport
airport transfer

Traveling is exciting, but it can also be exhausting, especially after a long flight. When you finally land, all you might want to do is drop off your bags at the hotel and dive straight into your plans. So why not start unwinding early with a ride that’s cool, comfortable, and exclusively yours? No need to worry about waiting for a ride or whether there’s enough room for your luggage – everything is prepared for you in advance.

With an airport transfer, that’s exactly what you get! Private airport transfers are a premium and stress-free transportation option for travelers arriving at Changi Airport. With a pre-booked service, you’ll be greeted by a professional driver who will assist with your luggage and take you directly to your destination in a private, comfortable vehicle.

During the booking stage, you can also choose from various vehicle types to suit your needs, whether you’re traveling solo, with family, or in a group. Overall, private transfers provide a high level of convenience, offering a smooth and personalised experience.

So while this service can sometimes come at a higher price compared to taxis or public transport, it remains a top choice for travelers seeking comfort, efficiency, and a seamless start to their trip.

2. The MRT

The MRT, or the Mass Rapid Transit, is Singapore’s version of a train subway system. Known for being clean, efficient, and extensive, the MRT allows you to go almost wherever you need to in a reasonably short amount of time!

Fortunately for every traveler, Singapore’s Changi Airport is one of the MRT’s many stops. So upon arrival, all you have to do is make your way to the station, which can be accessed through Changi Airport’s Terminals 2 and 3. It connects directly to many key areas of the city, including neighborhoods and business districts. If your destination is not directly connected by the MRT line, however, you may need to transfer to another mode of transportation.

The MRT is an affordable way to travel, with multiple payment options such as the EZ-Link card or contactless payments. If you don’t have an EZ-Link card on hand, each MRT station comes equipped with a self-servicing station, dispensing temporary cards you can use. You can also head to TransitLink Ticket Offices at MRT stations and bus interchanges, or convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Cheers to get yourself an EZ-link card.

Do note that the MRT can get crowded during peak hours, and it may not be the best option if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage, as trains can sometimes get cramped. However, if you’re travelling light or during non-peak timings, the MRT is definitely a great option for getting around Singapore.

P.S. Need a hand getting to the station? Check out Singapore Changi Airport’s map here!

3. Bus

Singapore changi airport bus

Buses are one of the most affordable and convenient transportation options available at Singapore’s Changi Airport. Singapore’s public bus network is just as extensive and well-maintained as Singapore’s MRT, and connects the airport to various parts of the city.

At Changi Airport, the bus terminals are easily accessible from each terminal, with clear signages to guide you to the boarding areas. The buses operate from early morning until late at night. They also have regular departures, so you won’t have to wait too long for your ride.

Just like the MRT, Singapore’s buses are air-conditioned, providing a comfortable journey in Singapore’s tropical climate. Payment options are also the same as the MRT’s – either through an EZ-Link card or a contactless payment option, such as credit or debit cards. For the bus however, if you don’t have either option with you, you may prepare a few dollars’ worth of coins beforehand (per person) to pay for the trip. Since buses in Singapore operate on a distance-based fare system, all you need to do is inform the bus driver of your destination to receive the exact fare.

While buses are a budget-friendly option, it’s important to note that they may take slightly longer than other forms of transport, as they follow fixed routes with multiple stops. You may also have to switch to a different bus if your bus does not go straight to your destination.

However, for those who don’t mind a leisurely trip, Singapore’s bus system is a fantastic way to explore the city. Plus, you can enjoy scenic views along the way as you pass through vibrant neighborhoods and iconic landmarks.

4. Ride Hailing Apps

Singapore changi airport grab gojek tada ryde airport transfer

Ride-hailing apps like Grab and Gojek are incredibly popular in Singapore, and offer a convenient and flexible transportation option for travelers arriving at Changi Airport. After landing, simply use the app to book a ride on your smartphone, and your driver will pick you up directly from the designated pick-up areas outside each terminal.

Ride-hailing services provide a comfortable and private journey, ideal for those who want a personalised experience without the hassle of public transportation. With options ranging from budget-friendly rides to premium services, you can choose a vehicle that suits your preferences and group size.

One of the main advantages of ride-hailing apps is the ability to track your driver and know the fare upfront, ensuring transparency and peace of mind. However, just like taxis, fees are subject to surge pricing during peak hours or high-demand periods. This can result in higher than average fares, and availability may be limited during busy times.

5. Taxis

Singapore changi airport taxi cdgzig

Taxis are a popular and convenient transportation option at Changi Airport, offering a hassle-free way to get around Singapore. Upon arrival, you can easily find taxi stands outside each terminal.

Alternatively, Singapore also has an app for taxis called CDGZig by the taxi company ComfortDelGro, which allows you to book a taxi on your phone. It works in the same way ride hailing apps do and all you have to do after booking is head to your pick up point where you’ll be greeted by a professional driver ready to take you wherever you need to go. They’re ideal for travelers who prefer a private, direct route without the need for additional stops.

However, taxis can be more expensive compared to other options like buses or the MRT. In Singapore, taxi fares are determined by a combination of a flag-down fare, distance and time-based unit fares, surcharges (especially during peak hours or late at night), and booking fees, with each taxi company setting their own rates, though the Public Transport Council (PTC) works to ensure some standardisation. While taxis are generally reliable, traffic congestion can also sometimes cause delays, particularly during rush hours.

Still, for convenience and comfort, taxis remain a top choice for many travelers!

Starting Your Singapore Trip Right

No matter which option you go with, getting from Changi Airport to your destination is simple and stress-free. Public transportation like the bus or the MRT provide a local experience you may not want to miss out on. On the other hand, if you’re looking to avoid lugging your bags around, ride hailing apps and taxis do just the job!

Alternatively, you may also consider a private airport transfer. They offer peace of mind the way the other options may not – there’s no need to worry about waiting times, crowded spaces, or unexpected costs. So if you’re rushing for a meeting, have a tour waiting for you, or just require reliability on your journey, a private transfer is definitely the way to go.

In the end, no matter how you choose to get from Changi Airport to your destination, Singapore makes it easy to get around. With so many options at your fingertips, you can relax knowing your journey will be smooth, efficient, and hassle-free. So, sit back, enjoy the ride, and get ready to explore all that this vibrant city has to offer!

Posted on: July 25th, 2023 by ayeeshah

When it comes to travelling around Singapore, there’s undeniably a myriad of options to pick from. The extensive MRT system and buses are more than enough to get you from one place to another.

The only issue is, it can get pretty tiring if you’re looking to do a full day’s worth of sightseeing with all your family members, or go on a shopping spree. Plus, if you’re unfamiliar with Singapore’s peak hour slow downs, you might just find yourself in a jam or late for your next appointment. So instead of travelling with uncertainty, why not go for something a little more convenient?

What is a Maxi Cab?

Maxicab singapore

If you’re not sure what a maxi cab is exactly though, don’t worry! We’re here to give you a quick breakdown.

Maxi cabs in Singapore generally refer to private vehicles in Singapore used for public transportation and often have a passenger and luggage capacity higher than the conventional car.

They can be used to charter a ride to and from anywhere in Singapore, be it a transfer from Singapore Changi Airport to your hotel or a ride around the country for the day. One of the best ways to get around, they offer space, comfort, and efficiency!

Types of Maxi Cabs In Singapore

As there are several types of maxi cabs in Singapore, you might want to request for a maxi cab that fits your needs for the day best.

If you’re looking for something simple, a maxi car should do the trick. Maxi cars have a capacity of 4 passengers and 2 bags, or 1 passenger and multiple bags. Beyond the large space available, they also offer the comfort of finely tailored leathers, smoother drives, and your own personal driver for the trip. Have a peek at one with this maxi car sedan

Alternatively, if you’re thinking of travelling in a big group, opt for a maxi limousine! Singapore’s maxi limousines have a passenger capacity of up to 8 people and 5 bags – so you know you’re getting all the space you and your family need. Just like maxi cars, maxi limousines also offer luxury and ease on every ride. Hesed Limousine’s Mercedes V-Class MPV, Toyota Vellfire MPV or Toyota Alphard MPV might be just what you need to get around Singapore with ease.

The best part? Both options offer on-board drinks, snacks, and wifi, so you get from place to place in comfort throughout your day!

How do you book a Maxi Cab in Singapore?

When it comes to maxi cabs, the idea is ease and convenience. All you have to do is give any maxi cab company a call, or fill up a form on their website at least 2 days in advance and let them know of your trip’s details. That way, they can provide you with the vehicle and services best for your needs.

Information that might be required include:

  1. The purpose of your trip
  2. Number of adult and children passengers
  3. Amount of luggage to be transported
  4. Flight details for airport transfers.

If you’re looking for the easiest way to book a maxi cab though, you may want to head to Hesed Limousine’s booking page, or drop them a message on their WhatsApp for fast responses and ease of planning!

Booking a maxi cab in Singapore is pretty simple, and when the result ultimately means worry-free, comfortable, and luxurious travels, maxi cabs are definitely one of the best ways to get around!

  3. From Bugis MRT: Walk to Fu Lu Shou Cplx and board bus 170

Although only the main locations are listed here, if you’re anywhere in Singapore where these buses are available, you’ll be able to get to the checkpoint easily!

Fortunately, once you’re past Singapore’s immigration, you’re halfway there. Now, all you have to do is head onto any of the SMRT or SBS buses available within the compound heading to JB’s immigration checkpoint. There are plenty of signs for you to follow, so you won’t get lost!

Things To Note:

1. Once you’re at Woodlands Checkpoint, the entire journey from Singapore to JB can take as fast as an hour during non-peak periods. However, during peak periods, travel can take up to 4 hours due to the Singapore-Malaysia causeway’s infamous traffic jams. So be sure to plan your time well! Beyond traffic, peak hour travel also means bracing the peak hour crowds and long waiting times, before eventually squeezing into a sardine-packed bus and standing for the entirety of the journey.

2. Prices for bus rides range from $1-$3 per entry, and can be paid by an Ez-Link card. Remember to have at least $15 in value for a trip there and back before heading over!

2. Train from Singapore to JB

Train from Singapore Woodlands Train Checkpoint to JB

One of the fastest ways to get to Singapore from JB, taking the train guarantees you’re at your destination in approximately 5 minutes (from the moment the train takes off)! No jams, no fuss, and no standing in line for buses.

You can purchase your tickets online via the KTM website or over the counter at the train station. They cost SGD5 if you’re buying them from Singapore over the counter, or RM5 if you’re purchasing them in advance on KTM’s website. However, do note that a return ticket to Singapore costs RM16 (remember to buy it together with your ticket to JB so it’s cheaper!). A return ticket can cost up to RM32 if you don’t buy it together with your ticket to JB.

Things To Note:

1. While this might be the fastest way across the border, taking a train requires proper planning. Remember to book your tickets at least 3 weeks in advance. This is especially if you’re catching the train on the weekends or on Friday nights. Trains are often booked to maximum capacity with Singaporeans looking for a quick getaway and Malaysian workers heading home.

2. Seats are not always guaranteed if you’re purchasing your ticket over the counter. If you decide to buy a train ticket this way, be sure to have a back up plan.

3. While the trains do have overhead storage compartments, they are not equipped for large amounts of luggage. Travellers with lots of luggage might have to sacrifice comfort to hold their luggage. So while a train ride over might be the best option for quick, travellers may want to consider packing light, or doing research on the train’s storage areas before proceeding.

Fortunately, the best part of the train ride to JB from Singapore is that once you’ve purchased your tickets and boarded the train, the train ride to JB from Singapore is definitely worth the advanced planning. Cheap, fast rides that avoid the traffic jams? Count us in!

3. Taxi From Singapore To JB

Ban San Street Taxi Terminal

Not willing to navigate the crowds and long waiting times? Grabbing a taxi from Singapore to JB might just be the option for you. Depending on where you’re hiring your taxi and where in JB you’re hopping off, prices for taxi rides into JB range from $60-$140 per ride. Each taxi can take up to 4 passengers too, which means it’s pretty affordable per person to head over via a taxi!

There are 2 ways to get a taxi to Johor Bahru. Most locals just head to Ban San Street Taxi Terminal, where there are plenty of taxis and drivers ready to make the trip across the causeway. However, you can also make a call for a cab from any location in Singapore.

Things To Note:

1. Luggage space is almost guaranteed with taxis. However, if you have lots of luggage, grabbing a cab over might become a gamble for space. Taxi sedans may only have space for 2 bags and 4 passengers. Perhaps less, if you’re carrying bigger luggage.

2. Remember to do your research and plan your trip and route in advance to avoid peak hour travel conditions heading into JB, or you might just find yourself stuck in a traffic jam!

4. Private Limousine Rentals

Comfortable, spacious cabins with limousine rides from Singapore to JB

There’s nothing better than travelling in comfort, and private limousine rentals in Singapore afford you just that. Imagine traversing through causeway jams in spacious cabins. Breathe comfortably, stretch out your legs, and enjoy the snugness of cosy captain seats!

Probably the most value for money option here (that also avoids the fuss of public transport), private limousine rentals from Singapore to JB go at about $250 per ride. The best part? That’s the cost for at least 4 people per vehicle. Hesed Limousine’s rides to JB from Singapore can carry up to 7 passengers, not including luggage!

Speaking of which, if you’re planning to bring lots of luggage for the trip, Hesed Limousine’s limousines’ rides to JB have 616 litres of trunk space (3 30” luggage bags and 1 26” luggage bag). This way, you don’t have to lug your bags into a train or carry them for hours while waiting for a bus.

Things To Note:

1. Hesed Limousine’s services come with pre-planning for your trip from Singapore to JB. Should you wish to avoid peak hours as much as possible, Hesed Limousine’s experienced planners can suggest the best time and way to travel to JB.

2. Be sure to be aware of any extra charges that can be incurred (eg. extra waiting times, or extra stops).

3. While general limousine services allow for pick up and drop off anywhere in Singapore and JB, do make sure to plan your pick up and drop off locations ahead of time.

So whether it’s a quick getaway or a long trip to Malaysia, travelling to JB from Singapore is pretty easy! And with the variety of options to choose from, you can always pick and choose based on your budget, needs, and schedule.

How To Travel in Comfort From Singapore To Genting

Posted on: March 31st, 2023 by ayeeshah

Staying in love with Genting Highlands is a timeless pastime for Singaporeans. And between the strawberry farms, theme parks, and of course, the cool aircon-like temperatures we don’t get in sunny Singapore, it’s not that hard to continue being absolutely charmed by the area either!

Travelling to Genting Highlands: Your Options

When you think of travelling from Singapore to Genting Highlands, chances are, you’re thinking of heading there one of two ways: booking a seat on a bus or driving up there yourself! And no surprises there, travelling via car and bus are the most (if not only) convenient ways of heading up the misty mountain.

Which way you pick, of course, depends on your needs. If you love long roadtrips, comfort, and privacy, the car ride is for you. This is especially if you’ve got a friend or family member who’s familiar with traversing Malaysian roads and highways.

If you’re looking for pocket-friendly rides and don’t mind sitting with others, a coach or bus from Singapore to Genting is the way to go. A popular option, no doubt, especially for anyone who wants an experienced driver up the mountains.

Unfortunately, the trip up the mountains can get quite uncomfortable. Anyone who enjoys those Singapore-Malaysia road trips can definitely attest to the motion sickness, the cramped, claustrophobic rides, and the stiff legs from sitting for hours.

The thing is though, travelling to Genting Highlands doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. If you’re heading to Genting Highlands on your next holiday, Hesed Limousine has got a ride that will keep you comfortable, even when the journey starts inevitably winding.

The limousines from Singapore to Genting by Hesed Limousine themselves can hold up to 7 passengers, but if you’re travelling in a small group, you might just find the space to lie your chair down all the way flat, like you’re sleeping in your very own bed (or perhaps better). Why curl up in small spaces on buses or cars when you can nap with ease? Think about the spacious comfort of business class seats on airlines – that’s what you’ll be paying for.

Since the journey from Singapore to Genting Highlands can last at least 6 hours, chances are you’re going to want to entertain yourself. While many of us might pick the standard Spotify playlist as our source of entertainment, with Hesed Limousine’s rides, consider bringing out the side tray table instead! That way, you can rush to meet your deadlines before your destination, or just sit back and unwind with a Netflix show on your mobile phone. Alternatively, it could work as a place for your snacks and meals.

5 Things To Note Before Hiring A Limousine Service In Singapore

Posted on: February 27th, 2023 by ayeeshah

Riding in a limousine can be an experience like no other. From having the door opened for you by a chauffeur to stepping into luxury, privacy, and comfort, a limousine ride can definitely be all that it’s cut out to be, and perhaps a little more… If you know how to do it right!

So if you’re looking for limousines in Singapore for your wedding, airport transfer, or even just an exclusive, comfortable hourly car rental, this is the place to be. From how to hire a limousine service in Singapore to the types of limousines out there, here are 5 things to note before hiring a limousine in Singapore.

1. Do Your Research

Before hiring that luxurious ride, remember to do your research! There are plenty of companies to choose from in Singapore, so take the time to be certain about your decision. Between varying price points and different services, doing a little digging on each company can make all the difference in your experience. Companies like Hesed Limousine have 5/5 stars on Facebook – so you can rest assured that it’s passenger approved!

2. Pick The Limousine That Best Fits Your Event

Hesed Limousine Singapore
Hesed Limousine has a wide range of vehicle options for your needs

A limousine is more than just a form of transport – it’s luxury, privacy, and service all rolled into one. Depending on your event, a limousine can even be a statement, a testament to the importance of the event from the comfort you are affording – all of which is why picking the limousine that best fits you and your company matters.

Before rolling into just any ride though, take the time to peruse the limousine company’s fleet and get an idea of what you might need. Depending on your event, an S-Class Mercedes Sedan might offer better ease than an E-Class Mercedes Sedan with its extra legroom, but an MPV might be a more suitable option for long distance trips (such as those road trips to and from Malaysia).

3. Communication Is Key

Each vehicle and service varies in cost and experience provided – so be sure to clearly communicate all you need when requesting for a limousine. From the luggage you might be carrying to the problems you expect to face. This will make it easier for your company of choice to recommend the best, value-for-money option for your trip!

In Singapore, a comfortable Airport Transfer in a 7-8 seater limousine can cost an affordable $75, while a 45-seater mini coach starts at $125. If you’re opting for point-to-point transfers (such as during weddings), a trip could cost from $65 to $120 per transfer depending on the type of limousine. So depending on what you need, you can rest assured you’ll be getting the best price and care the limousine service has to offer.

4. The Rideshare vs Limousine Conundrum

With a limousine service, it’s the little things that matter. Hiring a limousine means hiring comfort and convenience – which is why you’ll always be greeted by a chauffeur that you can count on to be there on time, who will sort out all your destinations and travel routes, and more. This way, you won’t have to put in the time, or carry any heavy luggage in and out of vehicles. Travelling via limousine in Singapore means fuss-free travels and transport, something not even a rideshare can provide!

So before hiring that ride, it’s important to consider the key difference between a rideshare and a limousine: amazing service! A rideshare might be slightly cheaper depending on the destination and service required, but with a limousine, you’re providing yourself with all the comforts you deserve for just a little more – including personal service by your very own chauffeur.

5. Remember To Relax

Don’t stress out over the small things

It might be tempting to make sudden changes in ready-made plans, or scrutinise everything that’s been prepared for you. However, for the full indulgent, royalty-like treatment, it’s best to trust the experts and relax! Chances are, you’ve done your research, conveyed your needs, and are ready to make that trip – everything’s been prepared for you, so now all you have to do is sink into a seat and watch the trees pass by the day of.

A limousine service in Singapore isn’t hard to hire, and that’s exactly the point! Prioritising your convenience and ease, hiring a limousine for your trips, events, and airport transfers could change the way you travel forever, for the better.
